The collections of Postmuseum consists of many objects, books and journals, stamps, photographs and archive documents of various kind.

The museum building will be renovated in 2022-2024

The Postal Museum and the Library will close from 1 April 2022.

During the renovations, we will have very limited opportunities to answer questions about our collections and hope for your understanding in this matter.

The renovations are expected to continue throughout 2023, and we hope to open the museum to the public during the latter part of the autumn of 2024.



The philatelic collections consist of almost 4 million stamps as well as originals and printing proofs for Swedish stamps.

The Library

The library at Postmuseum is one of the biggest of its kind in the world, and Sweden’s only public library specializing in philately and postal history.

Objects & photographs

When Postmuseum opened in 1906 the collections consisted of horse carriages, sleighs an ice boat, letter boxes and uniforms.
