Objects, photographs and archive documents
When Postmuseum opened in 1906 the collections consisted of horse carriages, sleighs an ice boat, letter boxes and uniforms.
The goal is that it will tell the stories of the people and the work on different levels within the operations of the Post Office and from different times and parts of Sweden.
The archive has photographs and other archive documents such as art, picture postcards and posters. There are nearly 18 000 objects in the collections and 100 000 photographs in the archive. To get them searchable online in the database Digitalt museum is an ongoing progress. Just now there are 14 400 objects in the database, and 8 000 of them have been photographed. 39 000 of the archives photographs are searchable in the database.
